Philodendron Monstera Addansoni

Monstera adansonii is known for its beautiful heart-shaped leaves. It differs from the popular Monstera deliciosa variety in that its fenestrations consist of oval-shaped holes throughout the leaf. This is how it earned its nickname swiss cheese plant. It grows to be 3-5’ tall as a houseplant and up to 13’ as a vine. But it will remain at a manageable size when grown in a container indoors. When cultivated as a houseplant, Swiss cheese plants are typically grown from young nursery plants and can be potted at any time. It’s important to note that all parts of Monstera plants are toxic to pets, so be careful when growing them indoors. Monstera adansonii known for its unique appearance, Monstera adansonii or sometimes called Monstera friedrichsthalii is a well-loved houseplant.

The Monstera Adansonii grows best in a well-draining Aroid mix using bark, perlite, peat moss, and charcoal. Keep the plant in bright indirect light and humidity above 60%. When watering, make sure that the potting mix of your Adansonii remains slightly moist and water about once a week. The humidity requirement of your Monstera adansonii will be somewhat higher than other commonly used houseplants.
